Batch, expiry and partial packs

First expired, first out — not first in

Suppliers routinely deliver stock that is already part-way through its shelf life, so arrival order tells you nothing useful about what should leave the shelf first. Klinira picks the batch with the nearest expiry and shows you which one it chose and why.

Warnings early enough to act on

Expiry alerts at 90, 60 and 30 days, per batch. Ninety days is the only one that is actually useful — it is long enough to use the stock or return it. A warning on the day of expiry is a report of a loss, not a warning.

Partial packs, exactly

Quantities are held as exact decimals, never floating point. Dispensing six tablets from a box of a hundred leaves ninety-four, not 93.99999. This sounds pedantic until a stock count is out by four tablets across a year and nobody can explain it.

Cold chain items

Vaccines and GLP-1 medicines are flagged as cold chain, so they are visible as a group and their batches are never mixed with shelf-stable stock in a count. The full cold chain temperature log is scheduled for v1.2, and we would rather say that than imply it exists.
